ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Sometimes the smallest ideas lead to the biggest opportunities.

While collaborating on several installations for Google's Quantum Labs, SEARCH+RESQ began exploring a series of small sculptural studies inspired by the Quantum identity. What started as an independent creative exploration evolved into a commissioned artwork after the concept resonated with the client, who invited SEARCH+RESQ to reinterpret the brand through its own sculptural language.

The resulting artwork transforms Google's Quantum logo into a dimensional composition of layered wood, acrylic, color, and light. Composed of faceted planes and precision laser-cut elements, the sculpture shifts throughout the day as changing light reveals new depth, transparency, and shadow.

Hidden throughout the sculpture are laser-etched fragments of the original construction drawings used during its development—quiet references to the creative process behind the finished piece. What began as a small studio exploration ultimately became a permanent installation, demonstrating how curiosity, trust, and thoughtful making can transform an idea into something lasting.
