Created alongside the Legacy Wall installation for GAP Inc.’s San Francisco headquarters, these two 5 × 5-foot commissioned artworks grew from the same exploration of the brand’s history, culture, and visual identity.
BANG & OLUFSEN
Private Commission · Triptych · 12 × 42 × 4 in.
Created for longtime collectors of Bang & Olufsen, this triptych began with the clients’ personal connection to the objects they had collected over the years. Original B&O technical drawings were laser etched into three species of wood, while components from their collection were woven into a layered sculptural composition—transforming familiar objects and memories into something entirely new.
The original lowercase gap logo was deconstructed to create the underlying geometry of each piece. Layers of original GAP denim, found objects, vintage memorabilia, and materials from the brand’s history were brought together—not simply to illustrate the company’s history, but to build with it.

Phoenix Rising · Created for a family rebuilding their lives after losing their home, ceramic studio, and property in Northern California’s Glass Fire.
Several years after the fire, they settled into a new home and invited me to create a sculptural artwork above their fireplace. With complete creative freedom, the commission became an exploration of family, resilience, and beginning again.
As ceramic artists, fire had always been part of their creative lives—a force used to transform clay through the kiln. After the wildfire, it carried an entirely different meaning. The phoenix emerged from this connection, with their favorite colors forming the flames and three birds representing mother, father, and daughter.
Installed in the clients’ home
After the triptych was complete, remnants from the making process inspired a smaller companion piece. Created from materials that never found their way into the original work, it became a gift for the clients—and one final, unexpected chapter in a collaboration shaped by story, trust, and creative discovery.

Created in collaboration with a longtime friend, this piece began with the selection of a live-edge slab chosen for its distinctive grain and natural form. Working from a photograph of his two daughters on a swing, the imagery was carefully composed around the wood—allowing its grain to become part of the landscape, movement, and atmosphere.
The finished piece became a collaboration between memory, material, and nature—a personal moment preserved within a landscape that was already waiting to be discovered.

Created as a birthday gift from a daughter to her father, this piece began with the stories, symbols, and details that define him.
Technical drawings from the industrial machinery his company builds were layered with personal references, meaningful symbols, and details inspired by his personality. At the center, a sculptural hammer represents his strength, determination, and ability to get things done.
The finished piece brings the personal and industrial together—a portrait told through material, machinery, and memory.
