PHOENIX RISING was created for a family rebuilding their lives after losing their home, ceramic studio, and property in Northern California’s 2020 Glass Fire. As ceramic artists, fire had long been part of their creative process—a force capable of transforming material rather than simply destroying it. That idea became central to the piece.

Their favorite colors form the palette of the flames, while three birds represent mother, father, and daughter. Rising through it all, the phoenix became a deeply personal symbol of resilience, family, transformation, and the courage to begin again.
