ABOUT THIS PROJECT

SEARCH+RESQ collaborated with Google's Quantum AI team to design and fabricate a collection of custom recognition awards celebrating the researchers, contributors, and innovators advancing the future of quantum technology.

The project began through a collaborative exploration of materials, movement, and storytelling—creating an award that would reflect the complexity and curiosity at the heart of Google's quantum research. Inspired by the visual language of quantum circuitry, the final design incorporated layered transparent elements, precision detailing, and interactive components that invite each piece to be experienced rather than simply displayed.

Each award features a handcrafted paduak wood base with a rotating mechanism that allows the piece to spin, balancing a suspended cherry wood cube between layers of acrylic. The combination of natural materials, engineered movement, and contemporary fabrication techniques creates a unique object that bridges technology, craftsmanship, and design.

SEARCH+RESQ produced more than 50 personalized awards, each individually crafted to recognize the people contributing to one of the world's most innovative fields. The result is a collection of meaningful objects that transform recognition into a lasting expression of creativity and achievement.
