GOOGLE QUANTUM - ICON
Custom Sculptural Installation
Creative Direction + Design + Fabrication

While collaborating on several installations for Google Quantum AI, SEARCH+RESQ began exploring a series of small sculptural studies inspired by the Quantum identity. What started as an independent creative experiment caught the attention of the client and evolved into a commissioned artwork.

The resulting sculpture reinterprets the Google Quantum icon through layers of wood, acrylic, color, and light. Faceted planes and translucent surfaces create shifting relationships between depth, transparency, shadow, and reflection as the surrounding light changes throughout the day.

Laser-etched fragments of the original construction drawings are embedded throughout the piece, revealing traces of the process behind its making. What began as a small studio exploration ultimately became a permanent installation—an example of how curiosity, experimentation, and trust can transform an idea into something lasting.
