ABOUT THIS PROJECT

SEARCH+RESQ was contracted by Mass architecture design firm to collaborate on the design and creation of a series of custom laser wood panels for the new modern Asian restaurant, Lukshon located in Culver City CA. Drawing inspiration for this project, the owner and chef of the restaurant provided us with several torn sheets of vintage wallpaper prints he recovered from his grandmother’s attic.

In celebration to opening his restaurant, the chef wanted to honor his grandmother’s memory by integrating the graphic imagery from the wallpaper in the interior design of the space. To balance the natural earth tone aesthetics and minimal design details of the interior, we digitized the graphic elements from the wallpaper prints and converted them into laser etch finishes along with exotic wood in-lay details within the teak wood wall panels which became the focal point and theme around the dining booths in the restaurant.
