ABOUT THIS PROJECT

SEARCH+RESQ collaborated with MASS Architecture & Design to create a series of custom laser-etched teak wall panels for Lukshon, a contemporary Asian restaurant in Culver City.

The inspiration for the project began with a collection of vintage wallpaper fragments that chef and owner Sang Yoon had discovered among his grandmother's belongings. Wanting to honor her memory, he envisioned incorporating these deeply personal patterns into the restaurant's interior as a lasting tribute.

Working closely with the design team, SEARCH+RESQ carefully translated the delicate wallpaper motifs into custom laser-etched artwork with exotic wood inlay, creating a refined series of feature panels that became the visual centerpiece of the dining space. The handcrafted details complement the restaurant's warm, minimalist interior while weaving a personal narrative into the guest experience—transforming a family heirloom into an enduring architectural element.
