Custom Laser-Etched Leather Gloves

For a TreePeople tree-planting event, FREEHOLD commissioned SEARCH+RESQ to create a series of custom laser-etched leather work gloves for participants to wear while planting.

More than 30 pairs were individually etched, with each glove carefully positioned to align the artwork across the fingers, palm, and irregular surface of the leather. With each pair requiring roughly an hour to complete, the process combined precision with a material that naturally varies from glove to glove.

The finished gloves became more than giveaways—they were functional objects made to be put to work, giving participants something they could wear while taking part in the planting and take home afterward.
