Custom Architectural Feature Wall

SEARCH+RESQ collaborated with Make Architecture to develop a laser-etched feature wall for Bodega Wine Bar in Hollywood, transforming an abstract field of dots into a large-scale architectural surface.

The process began with a series of material prototypes exploring how the pattern could be translated through laser etching onto Formica laminate. Working closely with the architects, SEARCH+RESQ refined the engraving depth, scale, and finish before developing the approved technique across forty-five individual 24 × 36-inch panels.

With only one month to complete production before the restaurant opening, the panels were fabricated and assembled into a continuous feature wall spanning approximately 10 feet high by 40 feet wide.

What began as a simple graphic pattern became an integral part of the interior—bringing texture, rhythm, and visual depth to the space through material experimentation and digital fabrication.
